The registration for National level cooking contest Golden Eye Chef 2019 was inaugurated today, 10th June 2019 at 12 PM in a ceremony by the members of Antardrishti. Participants may register themselves till the night of 30th June 2019 by logging on to www.goldeneyechef.com
In this one of its kind contest, 32 visually impaired people from across India shall be displaying their talent of cooking while competing for the Golden Eye Chef 2019 award. The contest shall be organized in two categories – 1. For the completely blind 2. For the partially blind. Both the categories shall have 16 visually blind participants each. Only visually challenged people who have completed the age of 18 as on 16th October 2019 can participate in the contest.
Visually challenged couple Shreedhar and Manju Upadhyay have expressed hope that such kind of activities will bring about a massive change in the society regarding the visually impaired. This will change the preconceived notions about the blind and they’ll get more opportunities to display their talent in the kitchen.
Manju shares her experience, “I cook for my family everyday. If I didn’t know how to cook because of being visually challenged, just imagine what would happen to my family. I cook delicious food and wanted to participate in this competition too, but unfortunately, due to being a member of Antardrishti, I will not be able to participate.”
This is an excellent opportunity for the blind to show the society that they are not less than anyone else.

Chef Kuldeep Singh shares that the Chef community of Agra is supporting this event and vying to make it a success. This is a one of a kind program and leave a lasting impression.
Mr. Akhil Srivastava, the Managing Trustee of Antardrishti, while showing a video of World’s first Master Chef ‘Christine Ha’, quips that when this lady can win the world famous Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Master Chef’ season 3 on Fox Tv, shocking the world, then why can’t the blind of India do it! It is all about being given an opportunity. And we are now preparing to give them that opportunity by working on Golden Eye Chef.
